Lu DeMello, our visiting artist, has helped MCC children create vibrant and varied works of art over the past year.

His professional career as an artist has spanned more than twenty years. He was formally trained in the Boston area as a fine artist and graphic communicator. His life as an artist has taken many paths- advertising artist, gallery painter, television production artist and teacher to name a few.

Lu has won many awards for his sculpting and painting, including a 1998 Emmy for outstanding set design, 2004 New Hampshire Master snow sculpting champion and 2008 Sandblast Master sculpting champion.

Lu believes he can develop children's interest in art by keeping his program fun with a dash of education. This philosophy blends seamlessly with the other work happening at MCC and is a welcome addition.

The children anticipate visits from Lu and proudly display their art.
