Scholarship Fund

MCC Scholarship Fund Since 2004, the Montessori Children's Center has been pleased to maintain a dedicated and expanding scholarship fund to help ensure that the Montessori experience is shared with as many children as possible.

In 2005, the fund was rededicated in the name of our departing head teacher, Mary Buckley Raine. We honor her commitment to inclusion, tolerance and diversity as well as the seventeen years of love, time, and energy she gave to the school.

MCC Scholarship Fund The MCC Scholarship Fund consists of private donations as well as monies raised in annual fundraising events, and is administered by the MCC Board of Directors through its Scholarship Committee.

SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

Families of all students seeking admission to or re-enrollment in programs at the Montessori Children's Center of Concord are eligible to apply for financial aid (Scholarship).

MCC Scholarship Fund Scholarships and financial aid will be made available without regard to race, color, national or ethnic origin of the student or student's family.

Financial aid awards are made by the MCC Scholarship Committee members, appointed by the MCC Board of Directors and informed by the MCC School Administrator and school Accountant and Board Treasurer.

The MCC Scholarship Committee will make awards based on the following considerations:

  • Scholarship Fund constraints.
  • Demonstrated financial need of the applicant family; guided by an assessment of need by the parent's financial statements, the family's IRS Form 1040 for the calendar year preceding the year in which the award would be made.
  • A current teacher recommendation for the student and family.
  • Preference will be given first to re-enrolling students who have received financial aid in the past, and then to re-enrolling students who demonstrate financial need.
  • Awards will NOT be made in excess of 80% of the student's tuition and are typically in the 10% to 25% range, although the Scholarship Committee is not constrained to the typical award for financial assistance. Tuition is defined as the net amount after applicable discounts are taken.
  • MCC will strive to provide effective assistance to as many families in need as possible.

Applications will NOT be considered unless ALL required information is submitted in accordance with the schedule prepared each year.

MCC Scholarship Fund Awards are also contingent upon timely submission of application or re-enrollment forms and time payment of tuition and any other monies due to MCC.

The role of the MCC School Administrator is to be "advisory" and to be a "resource provider" to the MCC Scholarship Committee regarding any clarification that might be needed thereby eliminating any expectation by the applicant(s) for Administrator advocacy of their submission.
